JOHN and Karen Laycock's young pigeon beat a trio of Boland and Brown's birds by just over half a minute when winning Luddenden Foot Homing Society's second successive race from Stafford last Saturday.
Thirteen members had 140 birds released at Stone Flats at 8.15 am into a South, South West wind and the winner was timed at Sowerby Bridge at 9.34. Tommy Boland and Robert Brown clocked four pigeons within forty two seconds and they were only separated by Steve and Mark Smith’s youngster in fifth position.

The Smiths won £32 in pool money with the Laycock’s picking up a ring special prize.

This Saturday’s race is from Wollaston in the West Midlands.
