BOOTH seconds took a vital nine points in their bid to move off the bottom of the Premier Division.
In beating King Cross they moved to within a point of them and just seven points behind Sowerby St Peters and Mytholmroyd.
It didn’t look too promising as Cross opener Armitage scored 111 and Hussain 91 in their total of 212 for 8.
Horsfall, 3
for 72, and Sutcliffe, 3 for 38, stuck to their task on a difficult day for bowlers.
Booth then lost Collinge, Lumb and Thomas cheaply and seemed to be heading for a disastrous defeat.
However, Johnstone was still there - indeed he carried his bat for 79, and with first Sutcliffe, 26, and then Horsfall, 75no, he steered his side home with three overs and six wickets to spare.
No such luck for Mytholmroyd who were well beaten by table-topping Triangle.
Milnes, 4 for 74, bowled a marathon 22 over stint to help restrict the home side to 208 for 8 but it was still too much as Sutcliffe, 27, and Walker, 25, were the only contributors of note as the visitors were bowled out for 139.
In Division two only Rafiel, 25, hit double figures as Old Town were bowled out for 44, Greetland knocking off the runs for the loss of one wicket in just 7.2 overs.
Luddenden Foot took nine points by restricting Augustinians to 99 for 8 in reply to their 195 for 8.
