HEBDEN Bridge will be turning custard yellow to raise funds and awareness of childhood liver disease.
Shops, businesses and medical centres will be displaying yellow balloons, posters and products to support the Children’s Liver Disease Foundation from August 18.
The charity funds vital research into liver disease, affecting children such as nine-month-old Saul Binns, of Hebden Bridge.
Saul was diagnosed with biliary atresia, a form of liver disease, he has been getting support from the foundation ever since.
The cause of the disease is currently unknown.
His mum, Katie Binns, will help host a bric-a-brac sale on August 21 at the Old Fire Station, opposite the town’s market.
And at Eternal Beauty, Mytholmroyd, raffle tickets will be available for a selection of covetted prizes.
Catherine Arkley, chief executive of the foundation, said: “In this country at least two families every day have their lives shattered by their child being diagnosed with a liver disease.
“The foundation picks up the pieces and provides information, emotional and practical support to these families and gives them hope for a brighter future.”
